Legendary Ali boxing trainer Angelo Dundee dies, aged 90

Renowned boxing trainer Angelo Dundee has died at the age of 90.

Dundee, who helped train Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard, passed away in Tampa, Florida, February 1st 2012.
He was Ali's trainer in all but 2 of his 61 bouts, and he was there when Ali became the first three-time heavyweight Champion.
He was hired to be the 18 year old's trainer and cornerman in 1960, back when the quick jabbing boxer went by the name 'Cassius Clay'. He was there to see his brawls with the mighty 'George Foreman and most excellent 'Smokin Joe Frazier' (RIP).

There from start to finish of his career, he witnessed the crushing blow & defeat by Larry Holmes in 1990, watching him get battered round after round, he stopped the fight after the 10th round, much to the objections from the other corner & a very bruised and puffy eyed Ali.
He was there to celebrate Ali's 70th birthday in January & famously called him 'The Kid' . . . Saying 'The Kid was Electric' (I think he was very right there, he trained a fantastic fighter) They were boxing's most famous double act, but one thing Dundee always admitted was that  Fighters "Make Trainers"
Although he was mostly associated with Ali, he worked with 14 further world Champions, including Sugar Leonard, George Foreman, Jimmy Ellis, Sugar Ramos, Jose Napoles, Luis Rodriguez and Canastota's Carmen Basillio.
Dundee was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1994
One thing's for sure . . . The Boxing world has lost a true great
'The Savvy Cornerman' To say he was a legend is an understatement . . .
`he will be greatly missed :(((
