Movies . . .

Today's topic is
Movies :))))
Telly was crap again last night so,
i stuck on a film I've not seen in ages,
The Crow

Ok, so for those of you that haven't had the pleasure, it goes something like this, It was released in 1994 & is based on the 1989 comic of the same name, The Crow stars Brandon Lee, in his final film, (as he died during filming, i'll go into detail at the bottom, but gutted, totally gutted by that) as Eric Draven, a rock musician who is revived from the dead to avenge his own murder, as well as that of his fiancée . . . (Eric Draven being Brandon Lee, son of the Mighty, Awesome Bruce Lee)

'People once believed, that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens, that a terrible sadness is carried with it and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes the crow could bring that soul back to put the wrong things right'

On October 30, Devil's Night in Detroit, Sergeant Albrecht is at the scene of a crime, where Shelly Webster has been beaten and raped, she suffered for 30 hours before she died, and her fiancé, guitarist Eric Draven, has been stabbed, shot, and thrown out of the window. The couple were to be married the next day, on Halloween. As he leaves for the hospital with Shelly, Albrecht meets a young girl, Sarah, whom Shelly and Eric take care of because her mother Darla is a negligent drug addict. Albrecht tells her that Shelly will be okay, but Sarah knows the truth: Shelly is going to die.

Skip forward 1 year to the day & we arrive at Erics grave, a crow has sat on the headstone and started tapping on it, Eric awakes from death & climbs frantically out of his grave, not knowing where he is or more to the point wtf is going on. He goes to his old apartment & finds it derelict, then the flashbacks start, of that night a year ago, remembering that he & Shelly were murdered by T Bird, Tin Tin, Fun Boy & Skank. He then, soon discovers that any wounds he suffers heal immediately & is totally immune to harm.

And now it begins . . . Revenge is soooo sweet & this film portrays it brilliantly.
Guided by the crow (who serves to give him his immortality) he sets out to find each & every one that was involved in what happened that night.
I won't go into detail in case some of you haven't seen it, but let's just say, it's entertaining, he has fun with some of them, they get everything they deserve . . . And some :))

On the 31st of March 1983, Brandon Lee suffered an accidental gunshot wound on the set of the film. He was taken to hospital where he later died.
When the filming started in the scene where Michael Massee shoots Lee's character, the gun was loaded with empty blanks, Un-known to the crew, one of the dummy round bullets had become lodged in the barrel, It is thought that someone was messing around with it and pulled the trigger, therefore causing the live primer to fire, resulting in the bullet moving a couple of inches into the barrel. They said, when the gun was operated, the propellant in the blank rounds-which is used to give visible effect of the gunshot-dislodged the bullet, which penetrated Lee's abdomen & lodged in his spine. The injury caused massive blood loss, such a tragedy, As the production team sent the firearms specialist home early, the responsibility for the guns was given to an assistant, they weren't fully aware of the rules for checking the guns before & after handling, so the barrel wasn't checked for any obstructions, when the time came to load the blank rounds.

So so tragic, was sitting there watching it again, still not believing it actually happened, but if you haven't seen it, I strongly recommend you guys do, it's an amazing somewhat dark film, & Brandon Lee plays the part brilliantly.

'It Can't Rain all The Time'

The soundtrack to this film is amazing too, here's my fav :))

And lastly, the 'EPIC' Guitar solo in the roof scene

  7. Telly was grap again? If the telly is crap in UK, then where is it good?
I just thought the other day because of the SOPA and stuff that if we couldn`t be downloading movies, tv seris and shows anymore then I would have to move to UK because you guys seem to have the best series and shows and If I`d live there then I would just have to turn on the telly.
You do live in UK? Right?
I haven`t seen this movie yet. It seems pretty interesting, though. And the soundtrack sounds great. Thanks, Dani!
